SDI (Sistema di Interscambio)

The SDI, Sistema di Interscambio (Exchange System), is the IT system run by the Agenzia delle Entrate, the Italian Revenue Agency, that receives electronic invoices in the FatturaPA XML format, Italy's e-invoice standard, checks that they are correct and delivers them to the recipient, whether a public administration or a private party (FatturaPA). It sends receipts back to the sender: delivery, failed delivery, rejection. In Italy, e-invoices between private parties have gone through the SDI since 2019 (Agenzia delle Entrate).

In YVY

Each company chooses its invoicing mode: PDF only or E-invoice (SDI). In SDI mode YVY builds the FatturaPA XML, validates it and, if data are missing, lists them before sending. Sending goes through an accredited intermediary; the outcomes update the invoice status, and supplier invoices arrive in Accounting. YVY keeps the XML files and the receipts; legal archiving (conservazione a norma) is done with the archiving provider you choose.
