Services and consulting
Business software for services and consulting firms: jobs, hours and margins
YVY follows a services firm's jobs from offer to payment. The quote becomes an order, the order opens the project from its template, hours and costs are assigned to the job, the invoice goes from the order to the SDI and the payment is reconciled in the daybook, in double-entry. You see every job's margin while you work, not at year end.
The path
It is built for companies that sell expertise by the project: business and IT consulting, engineering, training, services that renew every year. The work is not in a warehouse: it is in people's hours, and that is where the margin is won or lost.
A job in YVY
The offer
The quote takes services from the catalog, with the client's price lists. Several versions side by side, PDF and sending from the record.
The start
When the client accepts, the order starts by your rule: on confirmation, on invoice issue or on receipt of the down payment.
The project
The service's template becomes the project on the canvas: phases, nodes, who does what, estimated hours, computed progress.
Hours and costs
Hours by rate, external consultants and supplier bills are assigned to the job.
The invoice
It is born from the confirmed order or from a fee renewal and goes to the SDI through an accredited intermediary.
Payment and accounting
The bank statement is matched to invoices; underneath, double-entry with VAT registers and a trial balance.
The management-control questions, and where you find the answer
| The question | In YVY |
|---|---|
| What is this job's margin? | In the project report: sold value, hours by rate, collaborators and supplier bills assigned |
| Who is working on what? | On the project canvas, with each node's assignees, and in the team calendar |
| What do I invoice this month? | In the draft invoices born from confirmed orders and fee renewals |
| Who has not paid? | In the payment schedule, with reminders, and in bank statements matched to invoices |
| How much cash will we have? | In the Dashboard, with 90-day cash |
| Who can see rates and margins? | You decide with roles and permissions down to the single field |
What does it not do yet?
- Custom fields on records. On the way; today we fit YVY with project templates, catalog, price lists, roles and rules.
- Periodic reports for clients. The reports portal is on the way.
- Legal archiving of invoices. Done with the provider you choose; YVY keeps XML files and receipts.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a job and a project in YVY?
The job is the engagement with its value, costs and revenue. The project is the work that delivers it, on the canvas. In YVY the project is born from the order and carries the job's numbers with it.
Can external consultants work in it?
Yes. From the externals portal they only see the projects shared with them and the work assigned to them; their invoices are assigned to the job.
Can we start mid-year?
Yes. We set a switch-over date: up to that date your accountant's books apply, and we import and reconcile them; from that date YVY records in double-entry from the documents.
Can AI work on jobs?
Yes, with rules. Your chatbot connected via MCP, Claude or GPT, works with your permissions, and an AI agent is assigned to a node like a colleague, with a human owner. Invoices and payments only go out once a person approves.
How much does it cost?
The licence price list is a preview on the Pricing page. Import and verticalization are quoted in writing after the analysis.
