Daybook

The daybook is the record in which a company notes its money movements in date order: receipts, payments, withdrawals, deposits, on cash and on bank accounts. It is the first trace of a transaction, before it enters the accounts proper. It helps you keep an eye on liquidity and hand your accountant movements that are already in order and explained.

In YVY

In YVY the daybook is called Journal and sits in Accounting. You record receipts and payments by hand, or you load your bank's statement with Import bank statement: duplicates are discarded automatically. YVY then suggests matching each movement with payments and invoices of the same amount, or with the invoice number in the description. Matched movements generate the double-entry postings.
