Project margin

A job's margin is the difference between the value sold and the direct costs incurred to deliver it: people's hours at their hourly cost, external collaborators, suppliers. It is expressed in euros and as a percentage of the value. An example formula: margin = value − (hours × hourly cost + external costs); margin % = margin ÷ value. It tells you which clients and which services make you money.

In YVY

In the project, the Reporting tab shows Contract value, Costs, Gross margin and Collected. A node's hours are split among its assignees and multiplied by their rate; collaborators and supplier invoices assigned to the project are added on top. If a rate is missing or some hours are not assigned, a warning says the cost is understated. Margins and costs are visible only to those with permission.
